Experimentally demonstrate that the Earth rotates around its axis using a Foucault Pendulum. There is a simple equation that relates the latitude and the time it takes the Pendulum to rotate 360°. We'll do the math and find the rate at which we expect our Pendulum to move here in Boston. We will talk about the Coriolis effect and how the Pendulum would rotate in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere. Then watch us construct and operate our own Foucault Pendulum.
