Try out this magic trick and learn some chemistry while you're at it!

This video introduces the topic of acids and bases to an elementary school audience. The video starts with a chemistry "magic show," where I pour a clear liquid into a series of apparently empty beakers, creating a different bright color (red through violet) in each one. This is a stunning demonstration that, even as a skeptical adult, I still find so cool. In the rest of the video I explain the "secret" behind the magic: Acids and Bases.

Absolutely fabulous! Added the cabbage to my shopping list. I have two small suggestions: 1) prior to pouring the different liquids into the beaker holding the indicator, it would be great to show the colour of the liquid (to show that the change in colour is not because of the colour of the liquid being added) 2) say a few words about the indicator (ie choices and colours).

p.s. I have no idea why my name appears as ghostie - would definitely prefer to chose another name.
